Documenting our time abroad
We arrived here in Spring 2011 to beautiful sunny weather which soon turned to thick cloudy greyness that seemed to haunt us until about last week. With work being quite busy for the both. We spent most of our vacation days traveling back to the states for chilly holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. So we haven't truly felt the sun it seems until last week, so we decided to make the best of it and hit the best sandy beach we could find ...reachable by London oh course. We found a place called Camber Sands. We took the 10:42AM Train from King's Cross to Margate. With a platform switch at Ashford International via Rye. Directly outside of Rye there is a bus stop where peeps were waiting all decked out in beach gear, inflatable rafts, shovels, buckets and most probably some beers. So huddle up with the growing crowd or if your feeling bold you can walk to the beach. It's about 3 miles through sheep fields, it's quite an adventure!  We saw a sheep birthing a calf by the pond side it was pretty cool. Along the path there is no shortage of sweet smelling summer plants and wild flowers amongst the sheep poo. I really didn't mind the poo much, and quite prefer it over the thick pollution of the city.
